16 10 2008

Saudara Chong Chieng Jen (MP Bandar Kuching, Deputy Chief of DAPSY), Saudara Lim Lip Eng (MP Segambut) and myself went to Dang Wangi District Police Station at 12 noon today. After talking to the press, a police report was lodged by Saudara Chong at 13:15pm. The police report read as follows: –

On 14-10-2008 in the Parliament House, I read an article published by Utusan Malaysia on 12-10-2008. The Utusan Malaysia article is a short story titled “Policitik Baru YB J” in pages 14 and 15 of its weekend edition Mingguan Malaysia. The story was written by Chamil Wariya. The said short story contains seditious messages and is airmed at instigating and inciting its readers to commit political assassination against the member of parliment for Seputeh YB Teresa Kok Suh Sim.

The writer of the said story used the character therein, YB Josephine, to insinuate YB Teresa Kok and falsely painted a picture that she is “anti-Islam” dan “anti-Melayu”.

The story ended with a boy killing YB J with a revolver in public and then the boy shot himself to death. It was later found that the boy had a note which reads:

“YB Josephine adalah ancaman terhadap keharmonian. Lebih baik riwayatnya ditamatkan supaya masyarakat berbilang kaum boleh tinggal aman damai di negara bertuah ini. Saya berkorban untuk masa depan.”

Through the said short story, Utusan Malaysia and the writer was maliciously trying to imply that YB Teresa Kok is anti-Islam and anti-Melayu and the story had the effect of instigating and inciting its readers to do what the boy in the story did.

The same article is also published in Utusan Online website.

I lodge this report for police investigation.
